OUTLOOK EXPRESS EMAIL SETTINGS

THESE SETTINGS ARE FOR OUR NEW SYSTEM.

These are basic settings that need to be changed. If you already use outlook Express or Incredimail, you just need to change the settings, and will still have all your address and mail. If you want to keep all of your email on the detroit.esc8.net server, I suggest setup outlook express and point to the old server, then change the settings to point to the new server after you download the mail. The settings for the old mail system are still on the Technology Page. If you use outlook or Incredimail the procedure is a little different, but the setting are the same.

  1. You must first logon to your email at http://mail.google.com/a/detroiteagles.net/
  2. When you inbox comes up, click on settings on the top right.
  3. When the settings tab comes up, click on forwarding and pop
  4. Under forwarding and pop,
  5. Open Outlook or Outlook Express.
  6. Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Accounts...'

  7. Click 'Add,' and then click 'Mail...'

  8. Enter your name in the 'Display name:' field, and click 'Next.'

  9. Enter your full email email address (username@detroiteagles.net) in the 'Email address:' field, and click 'Next.'
  10. Enter 'pop.gmail.com' in the 'Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:' field. Enter 'smtp.gmail.com' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:' field.
  11. Click 'Next.'
  12. Enter your email username (username@detroiteagles.net') in the 'Account name:' field. Enter your email password in the 'Password:' field, and click 'Next.' If you have the password saved, you will need to log on using internet explorer, and change your password first.

  17. Enter '465' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP):' field.
  18. Check the box next to 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)' under 'Incoming mail (POP3).' The port will change to 995.
*The order of 'Outgoing' and 'Incoming' mail server fields varies by version. Make sure you enter the correct information in each field.
